Increased opportunities for more sustainable transportation between Europe and Norrköping Port will become a reality in January 2024. The German logistics network Kombiverkehr is launching a new train route that will connect the Port of Norrköping to Europe via Malmö.

Kombiverkehr is an established organisation in Sweden with over 100 terminals in its European network.

“We are very pleased to become a part of Kombiverkehr’s intermodal network. This will provide our customers with new opportunities for more sustainable transport, shifting a larger portion of the transportation to rail and sea instead of road transport,” said Magnus Grimhed, Marketing and Sales Manager at Norrköping Port.

“With the Port of Norrköping, we have found a powerful partner to expand our network. We’re now offering our customers another important destination in Swedish traffic. On this new route, intermodal transport with up to 80 per cent CO2 savings is available continuously to cities like Duisburg, Ludwigshafen, or Barcelona, among others,” said Björn Saschenbrecker, Head of Business Development at Kombiverkehr.
