An important initiative where the Port of Norrköping is active is ‘Östergötland Transporterar Klimatsmart’, ÖTKS. ÖTKS works to create a newtwork, increase knowledge and influence the transition to a fossil-free and efficient transport sector. A well-attended  conference was recently organized and Per Lindahl, who is a driving force behind the initiative said:

“It was extremely pleasing  to see so many people attend, both companies and representatives of municipalities and others. The commitment is high when there are concrete questions and challenges on the agenda. I feel very strengthened in my conviction that we have started on the right track with ÖTKS. These are actors who want to contribute and make a difference. Now we want to see even more companies in the region getting onboard.”

“We will work on the concrete issues that the companies face on the journey for climate change. It is challenging even for those who have worked with this for a long time. We will also spend time recruiting more companies. Not everyone has had the time and energy to tackle these issues, and ÖTKS will become an important resource for them. Support, inspiration and good examples so that you get help to take the first steps. The transport industry is still heavily dependent on fossil fuels. We have to change that together, and the buyers of transport are very important to have on board”, Lindahl concluded.

The Port of Norrköping is a partner in the network Logistikia, which is a regional logistics  initiative Östergötland, together with Region Östergötland, Cleantech Östergötland, Norrköping Municipality and Linköping University.
