Norrköping port area is subject to the International Ship and Port Facility Security Code (ISPS), which aims to protect ships and port facilities, and is regulated in Sweden by the Act (2004:487) on maritime security.

The rules provide some basic requirements, including making security assessments and security plans for port facilities and measures to prevent unauthorized access. In Port of Norrköping this means that all access to the port area must be checked, and that the opportunities for both unauthorized by unauthorized cargo entering the port area of the ISPS Code shall be eliminated.

All transportation and other matters to the areas will only be through the gates at each goods expedition. In the ISPS-classified area, only persons have access who have the authority approved by the port. Read more about how to apply for access under the access rules tab.

The Swedish Transport Agency, as regulatory authority, have established and approved security assessments and plans for Norrköping Port and Stevedoring Ltd in accordance with the ISPS Code. Port areas considered by this as SPA.
