Henrik Åkerström took up the role as CEO in 2017, with the assignment to further develop and expand the port’s operations and infrastructure.

“After eight exciting and developmental years, I have made the personal decision to leave the company to move on to a new assignment. Being CEO of the Port of Norrköping and having the opportunity to help build and develop the port for the future has been fantastic. Now it is time to pass the baton to another leader who can continue to develop the Port of Norrköping, which has a strong future ahead. I have had eight fantastic years at one of Sweden’s larger ports, and I would like to thank the company’s dedicated employees, our customers, our Board of Directors, and our owner, the Municipality of Norrköping, whom I have had the privilege to work with,” says Henrik Åkerström.

Successfully Fulfilled His Assignment

The Board and I have truly appreciated the strong and positive collaboration with Henrik. Henrik has shown great commitment and has been a highly appreciated leader, while also building strong customer relationships over the years. The Board and the municipal leadership have initiated a recruitment process with the goal of having a new CEO in place by autumn 2026.
