Swedish Ports (Sveriges Hamnar) has received multiple notices of industrial action. The Swedish Dockworkers Union (Hamnarbetarförbundet, HF) has announced a strike in all ports where HF is represented on Wednesday, May 21, between 12:00 and 18:00. In addition, they have announced a strike and/or a ban on overtime, hiring of temporary staff, and new recruitments at certain port companies at various times starting from Thursday, May 22, at 09:00.
The Transport Workers’ Union (Transport) has announced a ban on overtime, additional hours, and changes to regular working hours, as well as a ban on new hires and temporary staff for all member companies of Swedish Ports, effective from Wednesday, May 21, at 16:00. Furthermore, they have announced strike action at a number of ports at various times starting from Friday, May 30, at 06:00.
What does this mean for you as a customer at the Port of Norrköping?
The first notice makes it difficult to work outside of regular hours from 16:00 on May 21 and onwards. We are currently working to adapt our operations within the available opening hours – 07:00 to 15:30 – on Wednesday and moving forward.
The second notice refers to strike action, which in the case of Port of Norrköping includes announced strike action on June 2 and three more dates during June.
We remain hopeful that the parties involved will reach a resolution before any industrial action takes place. For the latest updates and detailed information, please visit the Swedish Confederation of Transport Enterprises’ website.
