From 1 July 2026, new regulations will apply. According to rules from the Swedish Customs Authority, it is the responsibility of the importer/declarant to provide correct information at container level in the import declaration. If this information is not accurate, significant discrepancies will arise in our reporting to Swedish Customs.
Important when declaring multiple containers
When multiple containers are cleared under the same MRN, it is an absolute requirement to state the correct number of packages for each individual container. This is because the systems automatically reconcile the data against the import manifest.
The following information must be declared per container:
- Number of packages: The exact number for the specific container.
- Gross weight: The total weight of the goods, including all packaging (but excluding the container’s tare weight).
- Exception: If the goods are packed in such a way that it is technically impossible to determine the weight per item.
